On February 2-3, current and former Designers-in-Residence of the DC Fashion Incubator — the premier program of the DC Fashion Foundation — sparkled at the Crystal Couture Fashion Show!

This high-end bargain retail pop-up sale and fashion show brought together more than 30 of the DC area’s most stylish boutiques, designers, and fashion retailers under one roof. Guests could browse and shop high-quality offerings from locals at a discount, take in a runway presentation, and enjoy sips from the bar and five-minute makeup and hair treatments.

The DC Fashion Incubator was represented by three designers: Shantae “Belle” Flowers, Amanda Casarez-Ramirez, and Evelyn Brooks. Belle Flowers’ collection in particular drew inspiration across the decades: “All the years are combined in different elements of the fashion show,” she explained after her runway presentation, such as the bell-bottom pants hearkening back to the 1970s. “Everything’s been done before. It’s just reinventing,”
